THE BLACK Equity Organisation (BEO) has introduced an initiative called Black Britain’s Mandate, aimed at tackling entrenched racial inequalities throughout the UK. Developed after extensive consultations with Black communities across the country, the mandate sets forth policy demands structured around six core pillars: education, housing, justice and immigration, health, economic empowerment, and cultural awareness. These areas highlight significant disparities faced by Black communities, with a focus on implementing meaningful reforms, such as embedding anti-racist practices within NHS services, ending discriminatory housing policies, and mandating transparency in ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting.
