The President: Thank you very much, everyone. (Applause.) Wow. Thank you so much.

Vice President Vance, Speaker Johnson, Senator Thune, Chief Justice Roberts, esteemed justices of the Supreme Court, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and my fellow citizens: today marks the dawn of a golden era for America. (Applause.)

From this moment onward, our nation will thrive and command respect globally. We will set an example for all and refuse to be exploited any longer. Throughout the Trump administration, I pledge to always prioritize America. (Applause.)

We will reclaim our sovereignty, restore safety, and rebalance the scales of justice. The misuse of the Justice Department and government for unfair purposes will come to an end. (Applause.) Our foremost goal is to build a proud, prosperous, and free nation. (Applause.)

Soon, America will be greater, stronger, and more extraordinary than ever. (Applause.)

Returning to the presidency, I am filled with confidence and optimism. This marks the beginning of a thrilling new chapter of success for our nation. As sunlight sweeps across the world, America stands ready to seize unparalleled opportunities.

However, we must first confront the challenges ahead. Although significant, these challenges will be overcome by the momentum America is now building.

A Government in Crisis

Today, our government faces a profound trust deficit. For years, a radical and corrupt establishment has drained power and resources from our citizens, leaving the pillars of society in disrepair.

We have a government that struggles with domestic crises and stumbles through a series of missteps abroad. It has failed to protect law-abiding citizens while offering sanctuary to dangerous criminals who enter illegally from across the globe.

Despite unlimited funding for foreign border defenses, our government neglects its own borders and citizens. Recent emergencies, from hurricanes in North Carolina to devastating fires in California, underscore this failure. Communities are left to fend for themselves, even those home to the nation’s wealthiest individuals.

Our public health system falters during disasters, and our education system teaches self-doubt rather than fostering pride in our nation. These issues will be addressed swiftly. (Applause.)

A Mandate for Change

The recent election represents a mandate to reverse past betrayals and restore faith, wealth, democracy, and freedom. From this day, America’s decline ends. (Applause.)

We will restore the integrity and competence of our government. Over the past eight years, I have faced immense challenges, more than any president in our history. This journey to reclaim our republic has been arduous.

A few months ago, during a rally in Pennsylvania, an assassin’s bullet grazed me. I believe my survival is part of a divine purpose — to make America great again. (Applause.)

National Renewal and Executive Actions

Under our administration, every crisis will be met with dignity, power, and strength. Starting today, we will restore hope, prosperity, safety, and peace for all citizens, regardless of background.

January 20, 2025, is Liberation Day. (Applause.) Our victory in this election is historic, uniting Americans of all demographics and securing decisive wins in seven swing states. (Applause.)

To the Black and Hispanic communities, I deeply appreciate your trust and record-breaking support. I will work tirelessly to honor your voices.

On this Martin Luther King Day, we pledge to make his dream a reality. Together, we will fulfill his vision. (Applause.)

Today, I will sign transformative executive orders. Among these:

  • Declaring a national emergency at the southern border to halt illegal entry and reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy. (Applause.)
  • Designating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and deploying federal and state law enforcement to dismantle criminal networks. (Applause.)
  • Tackling inflation by reducing costs and addressing energy prices. A national energy emergency will be declared, focusing on energy independence through domestic production. (Applause.)
  • Overhauling trade policies to benefit American workers and establishing the External Revenue Service to manage tariffs and duties.

Commitment to Justice and Freedom

We will restore justice, end government censorship, and protect free speech. Never again will the state be weaponized against political opponents. (Applause.)

Law and order will return to our cities, and we will stop attempts to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of life. (Applause.)

With these measures, America will reclaim its greatness. Together, we embark on this journey of restoration and renewal, ensuring a brighter future for all.

Colorblind and Merit-based

This week, I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life.  (Applause.)  We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based.

Thank you. (Applause.)
