Gregory Meeks, a Democratic representative from New York, has been a member of Congress since his initial election in 1998. As the ranking member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and a member of the Financial Services Committee, Meeks has established a strong political presence. With his next election approaching in 2024, he has amassed substantial financial backing to support his campaign efforts.

For the 2023-2024 election cycle, Meeks’ campaign committee has raised $2,875,983. His expenditures thus far amount to $2,222,454, leaving a cash reserve of $2,382,110. Notably, the campaign has reported no debts, according to filings submitted on October 16, 2024.

Among Meeks’ contributors, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) stands out as the largest donor, contributing $365,938. Of this amount, $355,938 came from individual donors associated with AIPAC, while $10,000 originated from PACs. Other significant contributors include MetLife Inc., which provided $48,550, the Bank of New York Mellon with $32,000, JStreetPAC at $31,750, and Apollo Global Management with $25,000 in contributions.

Several industries have shown robust financial support for Meeks’ campaign. Pro-Israel organizations lead the way, contributing a total of $424,841. Other key industries include securities and investment firms, which donated $384,600, real estate companies at $195,450, the insurance sector at $159,775, and commercial banks contributing $148,800.

The sources of Meeks’ campaign funds reveal a reliance on both PAC contributions and large individual donations. PAC contributions account for $1,184,519, making up 41.18% of the total funds, while large individual contributions amount to $1,013,499 or 35.24%. Additional funding includes $671,649 from other sources and $6,317 from small individual contributions of less than $200. Notably, the campaign has not reported any candidate self-financing.

Meeks also manages the Build America PAC, which complements his fundraising activities. As his campaign continues to attract substantial support from influential industries and pro-Israel organizations, Meeks is well-positioned for a competitive election in 2024. Source:  Open Secrets
