Jonathan Jackson, the Democratic Representative from Illinois, serves on key committees such as Agriculture and Foreign Affairs. Elected in 2022, Jackson’s next election is set for 2024. During the 2023-2024 fundraising cycle, Jackson’s campaign received significant backing from various industries and political action committees (PACs). The leading industry supporting his efforts is the human rights sector, contributing $32,450.

The Illinois Black Business Political Action Fund was the largest individual contributor to Jackson’s campaign, donating $25,000. Jackson’s leadership PAC, Marching Onward PAC, raised $512,766 in total, with $434,608 spent, leaving a cash balance of $79,261. The campaign also has $35,792 in debts. The latest financial report, dated 10/16/2024, provides an overview of Jackson’s fundraising and spending.

Other notable contributors to Jackson’s campaign include East Lake, James Group International, and Verandah, each contributing $13,200. Additionally, American Crystal Sugar donated $10,000. These donations reflect strong support from business sectors, particularly those focused on international investments and production.

In terms of industry backing, Jackson’s campaign has received substantial contributions from human rights organizations, totaling $32,450. Other significant industries include law firms, which contributed $25,618, followed by health professionals with $24,854, securities and investment firms with $23,725, and crop production and basic processing with $23,000. These contributions illustrate a broad base of support across various sectors.

Regarding the source of funds for his campaign, PAC contributions make up the largest portion, accounting for $321,148 (53.13%). Large individual donations followed closely at $279,321 (46.21%), while smaller individual contributions under $200 amounted to $3,916 (0.65%). The campaign did not receive any self-financing from Jackson, and there was a reported loss of $91,619, categorized under “other.” Source: Open Secrets
