Representative Ritchie Torres (D-NY), elected to Congress in 2020 and serving on the Financial Services and Homeland Security committees, was up for reelection in 2022. During the 2021-2022 election cycle, Torres’s campaign received substantial financial backing, with his top industry supporter being the securities and investment sector, contributing $754,381.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) was Torres’s most significant individual donor, providing a total of $1,435,244. Torres also benefited from his Leadership PAC, La Bamba PAC, which supported his campaign’s financial efforts during the election cycle.

By the end of the reporting period on December 31, 2022, Torres’s campaign had raised $4,378,605. Of this, $881,010 was spent, leaving $3,890,401 in cash on hand, with no outstanding debt.

Some of the top contributors to Torres’s campaign during the 2021-2022 cycle were AIPAC at $141,008, Democracy Engine with $81,750, Blackstone Group at $73,150, NorPAC at $70,270, and Elliott Management with $35,680.

Among Torres’s most supportive industries, securities and investment topped the list with $754,381. Other significant industry contributions included real estate at $401,449, pro-Israel groups at $291,961, retired individuals at $222,277, and lawyers/law firms at $178,314.

In terms of fund sources, large individual contributions made up the majority of Torres’s campaign funds at 73.19%, totaling $3,204,934. Other funding sources included miscellaneous contributions ($519,907), PAC contributions ($474,202), and small individual contributions under $200, amounting to $179,564.
