Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who represents Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives, has been a member since 2022 and serves on the Foreign Affairs and Veterans’ Affairs committees. As she prepares for reelection in 2024, her campaign funding for the 2023–2024 cycle reveals significant financial backing from pro-Israel groups and other influential sectors.

One of her largest supporters is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), contributing $119,838 to her campaign. Overall, donations from pro-Israel groups total $127,768, making this the most significant industry supporting her reelection efforts. Other notable contributors include Figgers Communications, which donated $26,400, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) with $20,000, Carnival Cruise Lines contributing $13,200, and Figgers Law, also at $13,200.

Financial contributions from various industries further demonstrate the breadth of her campaign’s support. Apart from pro-Israel groups, Lawyers and Law Firms provided $50,985, while Health Professionals contributed $31,450. The Telecom Services sector added $30,400, and Crop Production & Basic Processing rounded out the top industries with $27,100.

As of the most recent campaign finance report, Cherfilus-McCormick’s campaign committee has raised a total of $478,744 and spent $441,357, leaving her with a cash balance of $40,165. However, the campaign carries substantial debt, amounting to $4,218,447.

The sources of her campaign funds provide further insight. A significant portion, 52.32% ($303,284), comes from large individual contributions, while 46.85% ($271,550) is derived from PAC contributions. Small individual contributions, defined as donations under $200, make up a minimal 0.83% ($4,829) of her total fundraising, and there has been no candidate self-financing. Interestingly, her campaign lists a negative 17.40% (-$100,919) in other sources.

This financial snapshot highlights Representative Cherfilus-McCormick’s strong connections to pro-Israel groups and her backing from unions, health professionals, and corporate donors. These contributions are likely to shape her policies and strategy as she seeks reelection in 2024. Source: Open Secrets
