Washington, D.C. — Congressman Herb Conaway Jr., M.D., has officially taken office as the U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District, which includes most of Burlington County along with parts of Mercer and Monmouth Counties in the 119th Congress.

Expressing his gratitude, Conaway stated:

“It is one of the greatest honors of my life to be sworn in to represent the people of New Jersey’s 3rd District, and I am humbled by the tremendous responsibility that has been entrusted to me by my neighbors. The American people deserve a government that works for them, and I am committed to working with my colleagues to defend democracy, protect reproductive rights, and uplift our economy to ensure that the working families in my District and across the country can thrive for years to come. I am eager to get to work, putting people over politics to deliver results for everyone back home.”

A lifelong resident of Burlington County, Congressman Conaway is the son of a teacher and a nurse. He pursued his passion for medicine, earning a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, and a law degree from Rutgers Law School in Camden.

Conaway began his professional journey by serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he attained the rank of Captain in the Medical Corps at McGuire Air Force Base. He went on to serve for 27 years as an Assemblyman in New Jersey’s 7th Legislative District, where he chaired the Health Committee and contributed to the Budget Committee as well as the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee.

As a U.S. Representative Conaway remains dedicated to advocating for economic policies that support families across New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District. Source: Conaway House
