California voters pass congressional redistricting proposition

Robert Brigham, a retired mathematics professor from the University of Central Florida, finds it challenging to stand in line while waiting to vote due to concerns about limited access to clean restrooms following his colorectal cancer treatment.

Despite this, he prefers to hand-deliver his ballot because of past experiences with lost bill payments in the mail.

“I have a medical condition that literally makes me scared to be far from a bathroom,” Brigham explained. “When there are more boxes available, I have more ability of where to go to drop off my ballot. I like short distances.”

In 2020, Brigham was among 1.5 million Floridians who chose to drop off their absentee ballots, and he hopes to do the same this year.

However, Florida introduced new restrictions on drop boxes in 2021, aimed at improving election security, even though studies confirmed the reliability and safety of the boxes. Source: Election Law Blog
